The international travel
and tour business is a multi-billion dollar industry, with tour
companies of virtually every type and description. Lakani, quite
intentionally, serves a very narrow segment of this vast market. We offer a handful of carefully chosen escorted group and private jet tours, designed to appeal to discerning travelers. Via our tailor made tours, we design and operate true customized tours for individuals and groups of all sizes, to most areas of the world. In doing so, we are privileged to work with highly regarded travel agents, who utilize our destination knowledge and timely responses to their client inquiries. Our narrow focus, along with our operational skills, allows us to be the very best at what we do. Yet don’t be surprised if you have never heard of us until now. From day one, we made a conscious choice to devote our resources to the quality and value of each tour, rather than promoting a high volume of tours. We have grown naturally through repeat business and referral, which to us is the greatest endorsement of all. |

Heidi created a new organization specifically designed to offer and implement her unique and personal vision of the very best of travel. Thirty plus years of working alongside some of the industry’s true pioneers and legends, operating thousands of tours, have given her unparalleled experience, judgment and insight. Heidi is joined by a team of equally impressive industry veterans, each with their own unique set of vast and varied experience. As a Lakani client or travel agent “partner” you are assured that your tour is created and operated by an exceptional team of individuals. Quality and Value Easy to say, but hard to achieve on a global basis. We are able to consistently achieve quality and value based on practical techniques. First, we only create tours for clients who desire the very best that an area has to offer and intentionally restrict the number of tours. Secondly, we recognize that quality does not come cheaply, but that value can be achieved through experience and strong relationships with our suppliers. Thirdly, we know that by achieving value on each and every tour, we will prosper more in the long run, than by attempting to maximize the profit on each and every tour. |
Service The lost art of service is alive and well at Lakani, thanks to our caring, knowledgeable, international staff. We believe that attitude is everything. Service begins the first time you call us and continues throughout your entire journey. We look at everything we do from the perspective of our discerning travelers and attempt to anticipate their desires and expectations throughout the process. The same attitude of service extends to our travel agent “partners” as well. We attempt to facilitate their efforts with prompt, professional responses to their needs Integrity Honest answers, objective advice and commitments that really are just that. Travel agents, along with past and potential clients, frequently rely upon our advice about where, when, and how to travel. While we are an established industry resource, most importantly, we believe our high percentage of repeat clients, referrals, and reputation amongst our industry colleagues is the best indication of our integrity. We also provide all the normal assurances and safe guards, such as: trip cancellation insurance, registration as a California Seller of Travel (CST#2073277-50), IATAN Certificate of Accreditation, and payment of tour deposits through your preferred credit card. Heidi Lakani President heidi@lakani.com Lakani World Tours founder and president, Heidi Lakani, began her career at Travcoa in 1975, working directly with its founders, Mel Dultz and Kathy McCarty-Carey. During her 27 years at Travcoa, Heidi worked in virtually every aspect of the business and traveled to all corners of the globe. As Vice President of Sales, Heidi worked closely with travel agents and their clients. She was Travcoa's representative to the travel industry –leading client presentations and events. She became known as Travcoa's ambassador to the world. Heidi accompanied 14 “Luxury Private Jet Around the World” tours as the operations manager. She continues to service clients on the Lakani Luxury Private Jet Tours which she creates and usually accompanies. Her knowledge of operations and understanding of the local customs ensures the success of each Lakani tour. |
Erika Napier Managing Director erika@lakani.com Erika was born to be in travel. Having been raised in Europe before coming to America, she had multicultural influences right from the start. Erika graduated from business school in 1963 and immediately joined Travcoa. For over forty years she enjoyed tour planning, operations, marketing and corporate management for the renowned luxury tour operator under the legendary Mel Dultz and Kathy McCarty-Carey. She hired travel directors to escort the innovative tours and often traveled along to make sure that every aspect of the program would result in client satisfaction. With over four decades dedicated to travel, she became one of the industry’s key women and continues this legacy at Lakani World Tours. Erika is the consummate tour operator and Lakani is extremely pleased to have her on board to manage their new lineup of escorted group tours. |

Janet McKenzie Director of Operations janet@lakani.com Janet’s love of foreign travel led her to start her career as a travel consultant in 1980. Janet joined the luxury tour operator, Travcoa, where she enjoyed working for over 22 years in all phases of tour planning, operations and management. From 1989 until 2002 she managed the company’s Luxury Private Jet Tour department, overseeing every detail of operations and personally assisting travel agents and their clients in preparing for their trip, a role which she continues here at Lakani World Tours. In her former position as Travcoa’s Director of Product Development, Janet was responsible for quality control and the research and development of tours to new destinations. She still enjoys working closely with overseas agents to create Lakani’s innovative itineraries that incorporate active participation in the local culture, attending unique events or witnessing colorful festivals. |

Incy Britton-Foster, CTC Director of Sales & Marketing incybrittonfoster@lakani.com Incy was born in Wales and she traveled extensively before immigrating to Canada. She began her travel career with a Canadian tour operator planning and escorting tours. In 1975, she opened the Canadian office for Travcoa, under the direction of the legendary founder Mel Dultz. For almost three decades Incy worked closely with travel agents and their clients throughout North America promoting luxury tour programs and destinations. Her widespread knowledge of the world’s fascinating places and her broad understanding of the needs and expectations of both travel agents and travelers make Incy a valuable member of the Lakani team. Based in Wales, Incy can be found tending her garden or volunteering with the Salvation Army when she is not traveling the world or visiting travel agents for Lakani World Tours. |

Zachary Roesner Regional Sales Manager zacc@lakani.com Zacc was born to European parents and was exposed to travel at an early age. He started escorting student groups throughout Western Europe while attending University in both Chicago, IL and Florence, Italy. Zacc’s “professional” career started at Alumni Holidays Intl. and Abercrombie & Kent, where he handled Special Interest and Incentive Groups including National Geographic Expeditions and American Express Platinum/Centurion Travels. Zacc was responsible for all aspects of Private Jet Journeys from marketing, sales, and operations to tour escorting around the world. He joins Lakani World Tours with a wealth of knowledge and years of experiences in Luxury Private Jet, Tailor-made, and Escorted Group travel. Zacc brings with him an energy and enthusiasm that excite the guests with whom he travels. His desire to offer the best travel experience makes him an asset to Lakani World Tours as our newest member. |

Dawn Suart Project Consultant dawn@lakani.com Dawn started her career in international tourism in 1971, escorting luxury group tours to numerous countries. In 1980, Dawn joined the luxury tour operator, Hemphill Harris. In her role of Vice President she was in charge of operations of their luxury tours. In 1988, Dawn joined Olson Travelworld as Vice President of Operations, where she was responsible for tour operations and quality control. In 1995, Dawn was hired by Travcoa to launch its Independent Travel Department – designing, customizing, and operating personalized travel worldwide. Dawn’s dedication to customers and expertise in worldwide operations has earned her a reputation as a premier authority in luxury travel, along with the respect of her peers in the travel industry. Lakani is delighted to have had Dawn on its team since 2003. |

Mary McNamara Administrator/Controller mary@lakani.com Mary started her travel career in the tour and convention department of the Hilton Hotels Corporation in Chicago. In 1974, she joined Travcoa, and 28 years later she remained an important player and a true asset to its founders. Mary’s experience at Travcoa ranged from tour operations to financial responsibilities for overseas accounts and vendor negotiations. Mary worked closely with the legendary Mel Dultz, as his personal assistant and liaison with legal and licensing matters. She also had the challenging task of making travel arrangements for Dultz’s unrelenting journeys to establish tourism in remote parts of the world such as Easter Island, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, Bhutan, Patagonia, Oman, Yemen, Namibia and western Africa. Mary’s experience makes her a valuable asset to Lakani, as she is qualified to take on any task. |
